Wayne County · Michigan
A Victorian-era downtown on the Wayne/Oakland line — ten minutes from the MARK Z office and one of Metro Detroit’s most sought-after addresses.
Northville is the town people picture when they say “charming downtown”: Victorian storefronts along Main and Center Streets, a social district where streets close for outdoor dining, the Marquis Theatre’s marquee glowing over the sidewalk, and hills — actual hills — rolling through neighborhoods of century-old homes. The city itself is barely two square miles, straddling the Wayne/Oakland county line, wrapped by Northville Township’s golf-course communities and wooded subdivisions.
Housing runs from restored Victorians and craftsman homes in the Historic District, to 1970s–90s colonials in Northville Commons and Lakes of Northville, to newer estates at Northville Hills Golf Club, Stonewater, and Steeplechase in the township. The former Northville Downs racetrack downtown is being redeveloped as The Downs — new residential blocks and a daylighted river walk that will extend the downtown itself. All of it feeds Northville Public Schools, one of Michigan’s top-rated districts and a headline reason buyers compete here.
Prices reflect the demand — the median hovers around $550K, with the Historic District and new construction well above it — but the range is wider than the postcard suggests, from Highland Lakes condos in the $200Ks to $1M+ golf-course estates. The MARK Z team is headquartered ten minutes up the road in Novi and works Northville’s tight inventory every day.

Main and Center Streets are the region’s postcard: Victorian storefronts, a social district with street dining, boutiques, the Marquis Theatre, and a Friday-night buzz few suburbs can match.
Consistently ranked among Michigan’s top districts — Northville High School and both middle schools post some of the state’s strongest results, anchoring demand in every neighborhood the district serves.
Nearly 1,000 acres of woods, meadows, and trails on Eight Mile Road — hiking, mountain biking, equestrian trails, and a working farm, all five minutes from downtown.
Blocks of preserved Victorians, Queen Annes, and craftsman homes within walking distance of Main Street — protected character that rarely comes to market and holds value when it does.
The former Northville Downs racetrack is becoming The Downs: new homes, townhomes, parkland, and a daylighted stretch of the Rouge — the biggest addition to downtown in a century.
Northville Hills Golf Club wraps estate homes around an Arnold Palmer-designed course, with Stonewater and Steeplechase adding resort-scale communities across the township.

Northville’s calendar revolves around its downtown: Friday-night dinners in the social district, summer concerts at Town Square, the Victorian Festival’s costumed weekend each fall, and a Fourth of July parade straight out of a movie set. Mill Race Village keeps the town’s 19th-century story alive one block off Main.
Beyond downtown it’s green in every direction — morning trail runs at Maybury, the Hines Park parkway rolling toward Plymouth, and hilly streets that make even the school run scenic. It’s small-town living that never feels far from anything, with Novi’s retail and M-14 both minutes away.
