Pioneer High

Pioneer High School’s mission is to prepare their students to be successful throughout their whole lives by developing habits of study and social development while also being encouraged to seek their learning potential. Pioneer has held a place in the Ann Arbor community for nearly 160 years dating back to 1856 when it first opened as Union School educating 200 students. In 1956, Pioneer High School became the first high school in the United States to have a planetarium which is still in operation today.


Pioneer High School finds itself kitty-corner to Michigan Stadium home of the Wolverines (Go Blue!). When you live near Pioneer High School you’ll be close to a culturally rich community at the center of Ann Arbor, Michigan. When you live in this area of Ann Arbor, you’ll be near to many great portions of the city which offer excellent restaurants, boutique shopping, art fairs, festivals and more making it an ideal spot to raise a family.
