Clinton Township Real Estate Market

Originally established as Huron Township after the Huron River, this community was a beautiful spot with plentiful trees and waterways. The name only stuck for about six years, however, as there was already a neighborhood south of Detroit called Huron Township. In 1824 the area was renamed Clinton Township after the New York governor who was responsible for building the Erie Canal, which many believed allowed citizens to settle in Michigan.
