There are tons of things to do in Metro Detroit over Labor Day weekend, but the Chrysler Arts, Beats & Eats festival is one of the cornerstone events of the holiday. It’s a perfect opportunity to enjoy a multi-faceted cultural event nearby in downtown Pontiac. In addition to being an inspiring and exciting event, it won’t break the bank. The four day festival boasts free admission into the event and all concerts with only nominal costs for food. Arts, Beats, and Eats combines the whimsy of an art fair with an outdoor buffet courtesy of a variety of local restaurants. Birmingham residents do not need to be reminded of the upcoming Woodward Cruise; however there is a concert in Shain Park in Downtown Birmingham on Wednesday nights. Twenty-five years of free entertainment. Bring chairs and a smile to watch Birmingham's own Michael King and Scott Wilkinson perform with the Motor City Horns on the 20th, and the Paul Keller Orchestra on the 27th.
