Location

White Lake Township is located in Oakland County which is one of the most highly populated and trafficked areas in the state of Michigan. Population

When the 2000 census was completed, White Lake had a total population of 28,219. Although not the largest town in the county, White Lake has plenty to offer residents without going overboard and feeling too much like a big city. As each year goes by, the population of White Lake continues to grow.

Geography

The town of White Lake has a total area of 33.7 square miles of land. To go along with this, it also features approximately 3.5 square miles of water. From hills to farmlands to residential areas, the town of White Lake offers it all. With 21 lakes, there is no wondering why recreation and water sports are so popular in this part of the state.

Recreation

As you can tell by the name, White Lake is a great place to live or visit if you are interested in water sports or any other sort of related activity. With 21 lakes in the area, it is easy to find a place to relax. Many travelers flock to White Lake each summer to take part in water sports, boating, and fishing among many other activities.

Of course, White Lake offers much more than water. If you are interested in county parks and other recreation areas where the grass stretches for miles on end, you are in the right place. One of the most popular parks in White Lake is the Highland Recreation Area. This park alone features 6,000 acres of land that can be used for everything from picnicking to flying a kite. Do you like more traditional sports such as golf? Within a 25 mile radius of White Lake you will find more than 75 golf courses; many of them known as the best in Michigan. Within the town of White Lake, there are two golf courses: Brentwood Golf and Country Club and Indian Springs Metropark Golf Course. Both courses feature 18 challenging holes that are sure to test your skills time and time again.

As you can imagine, the housing in White Lake is environmentally friendly. After all, this entire area is based around the beauty of the outdoors.
