More about Royal Oak Condos

Loft living is a combination of American invention and Parisian bohemian culture. With exposed ceilings, cast-iron framing and cement floors, these rare housing opportunities paved the way for large floor-to-ceiling windows and open floor plans, a perfect setting for artist's studios and galleries. Landlords were happy to have tenants who were willing to install their own plumbing and build walls to divide rooms. Soon the avant-guard living styles of the Greenwich, SoHo and TriBeCa artists caught on, and loft living became a worldwide phenomenon.
