Tom's Root Beer Stand In Walled Lake Michigan
Restaurant Reviews
Tom’s Root Beer Stand in Walled Lake is one of the area’s eclectic treasures. With its authentic aged exterior and traditionally tasty treats, Tom’s is a classic that has rightfully survived the ages. Though many modern drive-in chains have popped up, nothing beats an original, as is the case with Tom’s. The little drive-in offers a wide variety of greasy delictibles ranging from coneys to chili cheese fries, and, naturally, they offer an amazing root beer float.
On my most recent visit to Tom’s I was welcomed with friendly and fast service, an impressive feat considering it was the tail end of a scorching summer day. Many bicyclists and drivers meandered in to enjoy the food while I was visiting, lingering to watch the sun go down on the lake as they ate. The prices at Tom’s are as great as the food, and help to make the experience worth the extra drive for those outside Walled Lake. A natural compliment to Tom’s is the carnival-style ice cream booth set up adjacent to the drive-in. They, too, offer a lengthy selection of tasty treats to enjoy after a hearty meal at Tom’s. Overall, if you’re in the mood for a fun and unique dining experience, you should make the trek to Tom’s Root Beer Stand. It’s well worth it.
Tom’s is located on the Northeast corner of Walled Lake, on East Walled Lake Drive.
