A Maze of Maize?

Fun Local Events

I’m surprised to hear that many are unaware of the seasonal activity of visiting corn mazes. The corn maze is a really fun way to spend a night with good buddies, not to mention lots and lots of corn. Many of these said mazes are carefully designed to portray a certain theme (visible from an aerial view) and also to get you totally, hopelessly lost.

A maze I visited last year gave visitors maps (optional, of course) so you could find clues and riddles to help you solve the mystery and sleuth your way out. Some mazes are pirate themed, underwater themed, scary or haunted…basically, you name it, they’ve probably done it.

Usually the maze is not the only attraction available, for those not able to walk far or just not that into corn. Some mazes offer mini golf, pony rides, orchards, pumpkin patches and snacks to occupy friends of mazers. The quality and story behind each maze varies, so it’s best to look up a good one on the internet before you go.
There is a really great maze out in Williamston (past Fowlerville on I-96) that’s a drive but worth it. Their website is: http://www.bestmaze.com/
