Cabbage Patch Kids, Tickle Me Elmo, and Firbee What's a Santa to Do?
According to the Kipplinger Letter (10/31/08), this Christmas Season there will be no "must have gifts" to hunt far and wide for. Kipplinger goes on to say that it's the fault of retailers and marketers who have "stripped down store shelves to lower risk and limit inventories". Retailers will also offer fewer in store credit cards to their buyers.
Some shoppers will miss standing in the cold with all their fellow elves trying to get that gift of the year. I remember 3 years ago driving up to a local Target store at 5:00AM to wait in line for what was then all the craze; an X-Box 360. When I was younger I worked at Toys R Us and will never forget the stamped that took place for Cabbage Patch Dolls. Talk about your "clean up on isle nine".
